The two day Rocky Mountaineer train journey between Vancouver and the world famous Canadian Rockies National Parks and Lake Louise. This two day package is the shortest Rocky Mountaineer train trip available. 

It is perfect for travelers with limited travel time. And it fits perfectly into longer trips that include a visit to the Canadian Rockies. Furthermore, you can build your own adventure around this wonderful two day train trip with the addition of hotels, transportation and activities.

And booking your train separately and then building an itinerary around it gives  you the ultimate in a custom trip and saves money in the bargain.

These two day / one night trips are available, in both directions, from the middle of April 2025 until the middle of October 2025.

The train departs Vancouver for Banff National Park and Lake Louise each Monday, Tuesday and Friday from May through September 2025. In April and October, it departs on some Mondays and Fridays only. The Rocky Mountaineer departs Banff National Park and Lake Louise each Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from May through September and each Wednesday and Sunday in April and October.

Rocky Mountaineer train service from Vancouver to Jasper National Park departs Vancouver Tuesdays and Fridays from mid April to mid October. It departs Jasper National Park for Vancouver each Thursday and Sunday.

There is NO train service between Vancouver or the Canadian Rockies and Calgary, Alberta, (YYC) the closest large city and airport to the Canadian Rockies. However, there are several convenient options for getting between Calgary and the Canadian Rockies: Shuttles, tours and rental cars. Let us know if you’d like to include a transfer to/from downtown Calgary or Calgary airport.

Levels of Service

Rocky Mountaineer: SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf Service

  • SilverLeaf Service includes reserved seating in a custom built single level car with expansive windows curving into the ceiling, hot breakfast and lunch served at your seat, and complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during the day.
  • GoldLeaf Service – Reserved seating in the GoldLeaf elevated dome car. Breakfast and lunch are served in the GoldLeaf dining car and GoldLeaf passengers have access to the outdoor viewing platform. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the train and overnight accommodations are included in Kamloops.
