Covid and Your Rocky Mountaineer Trip

Before you travel

CONTACT TRACING

Rocky Mountaineer will be asking for your contact information prior to travel for contact tracing purposes. Your personal information will only be used for contract tracing and disclosed to the public health authority, if required.

QUICK AND SEAMLESS CHECK-IN

You will receive an email from Rocky Mountaineer for check-in 48 hours prior to your departure to ensure the boarding process is as seamless as possible.

RAPID TESTING

Rocky Mountaineer will be providing rapid COVID-19 testing at the starting point of your journey, the evening before your departure. More details will be provided closer to your travel date.

Transfers & boarding

PRE-TRAVEL SCREENING

Rocky Mountaineer will ask you questions about your health and recent travels, and will take your temperature prior to boarding the train each day. If you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19, you will not be able to board the train.

SAFE PERSONAL SPACE

To ensure a safe personal space, Rocky Mountaineer will meet all physical distancing guidelines at time of travel.

SEAMLESS BOARDING

You will board the train directly from the motorcoaches to make the boarding as seamless as possible.

FACE COVERINGS

Please pack a protective face covering, such as a non-medical face mask, as you will be required to wear one while on your motorcoach transfers, walking to and from the train, as well as boarding and exiting the train.

Onboard Rocky Mountaineer

AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM

There will be a constant intake and circulation of fresh air every 3.5 minutes with bipolar ionizers in the air ducts that will eliminate 99.9% of airborne particles such as bacteria and virus.

PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS

Soap, fresh water and hand sanitizer will be readily available in your coach. We will also be providing each guest with an amenity kit with additional hand sanitizer and face covering.

PERSONAL USE ITEMS

Rocky Mountaineer has replaced communal use items, such as condiments and menus, with personal use items.

ELECTROSTATIC DISINFECTANT SPRAY

At the start and end of each travel day, Rocky Mountaineer train interiors will be thoroughly sanitized using an electrostatic disinfectant sprayer.

THOROUGH SANITIZATION

Your train seat and tray table will be sanitized at the start of each day. All high-touch and common areas will be disinfected throughout the day.

SAFE PERSONAL SPACE

To ensure a safe personal space, Rocky Mountaineer will meet all physical distancing guidelines at time of travel.

FACE COVERINGS

You will be required to wear a face covering on the train, including while using shared spaces such as the washroom or outdoor viewing platform, and while seated, unless you are eating or drinking.

Ample physical distancing between you and other parties will be in place while you are seated for your comfort and safety. Rocky Mountaineer’s world-class cuisine, gourmet snacks and premium beverages will be available to enjoy at your leisure throughout your journey. Face coverings will not be required while you are eating or drinking.

GOLDLEAF DINING ROOM

If you are booked in GoldLeaf Service, you can enjoy your gourmet breakfast and lunch safely with plexi-glass partitions between your travel party and others.

Rocky Mountaineer will remain in close communication with partners regarding any updates to their health and safety protocols as recommended guidelines evolve.

All Rocky Mountaineer third-party hotel partners have implemented enhanced health and safety procedures in line with recommended best practices. This includes stringent cleaning procedures, plexiglass barriers, physical distancing signage, and hand sanitizer stations

HIGHLY TRAINED
The Rocky Mountaineer onboard team is highly trained in providing care and first aid should anything happen during your travel on the train.

MEDICAL PROTOCOLS
If you feel unwell, Rocky Mountaineer’s onboard team will do everything in their ability to support you, including arranging for transport to the nearest medical facility. If a guest begins to display symptoms of COVID-19, the Rocky Mountaineer team will safely relocate them to an isolated rail car.

PREVENTATIVE MEASURES AND GEAR
Rocky Mountaineer team members will wear face coverings, gloves and other items, as needed, during the preparation and service of food and beverage, and during all interactions with you. Their temperature may also be taken.
